After the Great Depression (1929 - 1933), fascism and militarism rose dramatically across the world, forming the Axis powers consisting of Germany, Italy, and Japan. These countries pursued territorial expansion wars, aiming to defeat the major powers in the Versailles-Washington system to establish a new world order. In September 1939, Germany attacked Poland, marking the beginning of World War II. By the end of 1941, the war had spread, causing a major catastrophe for many countries and nations worldwide. Amid this context, in 1942, the Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, and several other countries formed the Anti-Fascist Allied Front (the Allies), marking a turning point in the war. The countries in the Allied powers, especially the Soviet Union, fought courageously to crush fascism and militarism worldwide, contributing to the creation of a heroic anthem for humanity in the 20th century.
