Under the leadership of the Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, 1954, after 56 days and nights of fierce fighting “cutting the mountain to sleep in the cellar, pouring rain with rice squeezed, blood mixed with thin mud”, overcoming difficulties, our army and people destroyed the group of Dien Bien Phu stronghold of the French expeditionary army, making an important and direct contribution to the signing of the Geneva Agreement (July 21, 1954) on the cessation of hostilities and restoration of peace of Indochina. The “strategic decisive” battle at Dien Bien Phu had a great, profound and multi-dimensional impact on the situation of the war in Vietnam and Indochina, and at the same time had a direct impact on the French internal affairs and the international situation.
