Abstract

The 15th Meeting of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Labor Party, session II (January 1959) and the official Resolution of the Meeting issued afterward (May 1959) is an outstanding political event and document filling with the direction and the methods of conducting the revolutionary struggle with the goal of national unification. More than six decades have passed, politicians and scholars at home and abroad have had many interpretations about “Resolution N015” from different perspectives. In fact, they come to affirm the strategic importance and significance of the Resolution N015 in planning the guidelines and leadership policies of the Vietnamese Labor Party for the struggle against the US - Diem in the South and the request to consolidate and build the strong North. With the meaning of a breakthrough, Resolution N015 has an “important transitional” value, opening a way to resolve the South Vietnam revolutionary situation, bringing the resistance war against American imperialsim for national salvation to the complete victory.
