O Ta Soc base and U Minh base - Seen from a comparative perspective

Abstract

During the anti American imperialist resistance war for national salvation (1954 - 1975), Vietnam South was 
the key battlefield of the whole country, the place of fierce confrontation between us and the enemy. Continuing to promote the glorious title of the “Fatherland’s Iron Bulwark” during the anti French colonialist resistance war that the army and people of the South constructed a system of large, medium and small bases; spreading throughout the area, in forests, mountains, rural plains and urban areas. O Ta Soc base (An Giang) and U Minh base (Ca Mau, Kien 
Giang) were actually the on-site rearguards in the Mekong delta, contributing to the victory of the anti US imperialist resistance war for national salvation. Due to the impacts of many factors, there were differences between O Ta Soc base and U Minh base in the process of building and promoting their revolutionary role. It was a diversity and uniqueness of the system of revolutionary bases in South Vietnam in particular and the country in general.
