A Brief Overview of the Railway System in the South Vietnam in the Period 1945 - 1954

After having returned to invade Vietnam, the French colonialism restored the railway transport system throughout the country, including South Vietnam in order to serve the war and the economic exploitation. The article seeks to focus on presenting the establishment and operation of three railway lines Saigon - My Tho, Saigon - Bien Hoa, Saigon - Loc Ninh during the period of 1945 - 1954. From that, some comments are drawn on the impact of the Southern railway system to the social life of the South.
